What are the entry requirements?
As part of the Government’s modernisation programme, a set of National Occupational Standards were established for Registered managers of health and social care services for adults. No formal qualifications are necessary, although already holding a level 3 qualification is desirable. The LMC level 4 qualification is suitable for managers and deputies. Holding, or working towards the LMC qualification is a requirement of the Care Quality Commission.
How it is taught and assessed?
LMC students undertake a 1:1 induction with an allocated assessor. Evidence of competent practice and knowledge is collected by the student and presented in a portfolio of work with support from their assessor, including some observation of performance.
