Managing and Safe Handling of Medicines

EDI Certificate. Following a day's taught programme, students undergo an assignment, workbook and observations of competence. A high quality programme more than meeting the demands expected in social care and health. Cost includes registration, assessment, moderation and certification.

Learning Outcomes


Provides excellent evidence for Health and Social Care NVQs at levels 2 (HSC221) and 3 (HSC375) as it includes observation by nurse assessors.

Working with Medicines

This one day programme includes activities and a final assessment to evaluate learning. Cost includes all training materials and assessment. 

Support workers in domiciliary settings are increasingly coming across individuals who relay on varying amounts of medication to reduce symptoms and treat illness. This course will provide knowledge and understanding around medicines, which will empower people and support safe working practice. The course introduces learners to medicines in the care setting, gives knowledge to support them in their role, as well as guiding learners through the legislation, standards and guidance relating to working with medicines.

Learning outcomes:

Both 'Managing and Safe Handling of Medicines' and 'Working with Medicines' can be run as distance learning programmes. Please telephone with your requirements.
