Training & Assessment Qualifications (Replaces A1/V1)
In 2009/2010, Lifelong Learning UK (the learning sector skills council) developed new qualifications now called TAQA: Teaching Assessment Quality Assurance. The Award is designed to sit on QCF and is open to anyone carrying out assessment and quality assurance roles, including assessing competence in the workplace.
ACT provide training towards all of the following:
| Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits) | |||

A knowledge-only Award for those who need to know about assessment but who are not currently practicing e.g. aspiring assessors or quality managers. |

| Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (9 credits) | |||

For practitioners who assess the achievement of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation, examining work products, oral questioning and discussion, use of others (e.g. witnesses), learner statements and RPL |

For practitioners who assess achievement in vocationally-related situations e.g. classrooms or workshops and who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL |

| Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (6 credits) | |||

A knowledge-only Award for those who need to know about internal quality assurance but who are not carrying out quality assurance themselves. These may be experienced assessors or centre managers for example. |

For practitioners who lead the internal quality assurance process and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process and practice and the performance of assessors. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies |
You can pick and mix units in order to complete the full qualification at a time and pace to suit you. All evidence will be gathered from your workplace, supported by an experienced assessor and you will complete a Portfolio of evidence.
